Can I buy a prepaid SIM card in Gatwick airport?

Visiting UK for a week and hate the idea of paying roaming charges.Would like to buy a local SIM card with minimum prepaid voice minutes and some decent amount of data. Any suggestions? Can I buy a prepaid SIM card in Gatwick airport?
Not at the airport no. The shops there may sell phones ( Dixons Travel electrical store) , but there are no shops for the main mobile networks.

Once you get onto the towns or cities, there will be plenty of places to buy a sim.Can I buy a prepaid SIM card in Gatwick airport?
There are a plethora of "pay as you go" SIM cards available in the UK. And they can be bought via supermarkets, newsagents, phone shops etc etc.

Probably about 拢5 for the card (this may even include some free minutes) and then you just top it up at newsagents with however much you require.

I don't havve 'pay as you go' now but a friend who has Virgin Mobile 'pay as you go' gets fantastic deals.

I do exactly what you're doing when I go abroad. MUCH easier and cheaper. Just make sure your phone is unlocked and can therefore accept ANY providers SIM card (or you can get it unlocked for between 拢5 and 拢10 and that your mobile (cell) can operate on our wavelength. U.S. and UK are different frequencies.

Have a great time over here. Can I buy a prepaid SIM card in Gatwick airport?
Just buy a "pay as you go" card. You can find them in lots of phone shops (Vodafone, O2, T Mobile, Orange, Lebara, Virgin and so on) and top up pretty much anywhere.

Not sure if you can't find at the airport though. But yeah, I guess so.
