I have the sony ericcson w580i but need a prepaid sim card. I was wondering if I could set it up with a number in Cali even though I live in Oregon for school. Do they need a social or address to set up a prepaid account? I know T-mobile doesn't but I hate t-mobile. I appreciate the help.

Sim cards for ATT run $25 plus tax. You will not need a SSN to open the account for prepaid. Keep in mind they may ask your address so they can get you a local number. You can tell them you want a Cali# and they can help you.
