What's the difference between a regular sim card and a prepaid sim card?

I am asking this because I was sent a sidekick with a brand new sim card, but I want to use the "T-Mobile To Go" prepaid data plan.

Would I have to buy another different sim card to use for prepaid, or can I just use the sim card that was sent to me?What's the difference between a regular sim card and a prepaid sim card?
I Work for TMobile.

There is not difference between the SIM cards in the physical sense. But here's what you need to keep in mind...

Once a SIM card is registered, meaning it has a number attached to it, you cant switch it the way you are thinking.

If the SIM card is still in its cut-out (the credit card sized piece that holds it) then it is probably not registered. So, all you need to do is bring it to one of our stores and have us activate it with a new PrePay SK activation. (it will cost you 30 dollars, but that will be given back to you in PrePay dollars on your new PrePay account, so its basically free)

They may even need to give you a new SIM card for inventory purposes, if so, just let them, because they are not charging you anything.

Make sure you go to a corporate store!!!

Hope that helped!
