Right now I have a T-mobile pay as you go phone. I'm looking for a new phone from the same provider. Is there a way to get a phone normally used on a contract and just switch the SIM card into the new phone to use it on the prepaid service? If it matters I was looking at the Samsung Gravity. Can a normal contract cell phone be used with a prepaid SIM card?
As long as it is the same service provider the phone will work as pay as you go too. The phones are only locked to the carrier, it doesn't matter if it is pay as you go or a contract. Just switch the sim and you are ready to go.Can a normal contract cell phone be used with a prepaid SIM card?
Yes, I think it is. BUT you CAN'T buy the phone on a Contract as they Will bill you for a plan you won't use (Hense the 'Contract' Meaning If you sign a 3 Year Contract, you Stick with a Plan (Not Pay as You Go) for 3 Years). Buy it no Contract So you wont be Paying for your Pay As You Go Plan AND a Normal Plan at the Same Time.
Edit: Or, Maybe Not Says the Guy above. I Go Full Blown 60 Dollar a Month Awesomeness. And I Live In Canada, so I Don't Know. Can a normal contract cell phone be used with a prepaid SIM card?
yes it can..i had a at%26amp;t phone but something happend and i couldn't do anything with it except turn it on and off..so i went to a drug store and bought a pre paid at%26amp;t phone.I took the SIM card out of the old one and into the new one and it worked perfectly
But another thing you can do is go to like best buys cause they have phones that are called unlocked phones. And they all are made so that you can put your SIM card in it. But sometimes they are expensive. So your probably better off buying one of t-mobile's go phones
No my friend tried and it messed up his cell phone.
