Which Australian prepaid sim cards can give me cheap internet access? I'm in the UK but I'll be returning to Oz after five years. Here I've got a 2GB monthly data allowance for around $12 on prepaid (on 3 mobile). However, may I suggest to you a lesser-known company called Exetel? They don't advertise and it's not exaclty prepaid, but I think you'll get much better value for money considering you pay only $5 per month and only $0.015 (1.5 cents!) per MB with their pay for what you use plans. Their website says you also get a bunch of amazing bonuses like a VOIP account (cheap telephone calls via internet) and 200MB web space.



Please note though that you will have to pay a $25 start-up fee if you bring your own modem, or add $170 to get their Huawei one - but that's really no different to other companies and is probably cheaper considering there is no contract. Besides, prepaid data will usually have an expiry date on it too.



Also, the sim is for internet only with no phone number on it, however they say you can arrange with them to get it with an Optus phone plan so you can use it for an iPhone or similar.

You may want to check out vodafone, I personally use them for my postpay and found them much more reliable then 3G much faster speeds. They have also released prepaid internet packs for their prepaid range.
