Prepaid sim?

I'm going to italy and greece in 2 weeks for a month. I want to bring my cell phone but im not sure what a prepaid sim card is. I'm currently with Rogers. What is a prepaid sim card, how much will it cost and where can I buy one?Prepaid sim?
First and most importantly you have to make sure your phone is a "gsm" phone and at least a "triband" or "quadband" phone. It would also most likely need to be "unlocked" to be able to switch sims. For a better description of these words go to : www.opengsmphones.comPrepaid sim?
First you need to take your phone to a place to get it unlocked. You might see a sign that says "We unlock phones!" Or you can ask any cell phone store, they can tell you where to go. The process can involve dropping the phone off, and picking it up later. Some phones take longer than other in this process.

And be warned, if you unlock it, you loose any warranty from your original agreement, if you had one.

T-Mobile's prepaid sims start at 5 bucks, and go from 10 to 15, etc.

1O dollars is where most of them start, and basically, it just charges per minute, or per text. Like 15 cents for a text. And once you've used up your money, you can't receive any more texts or send any more. You get a little message in your inbox saying "insufficient funds."

So once your phone is unlocked, you can go to any store, stick any sim card in, and be in business.

Good luck!
